Afraid to See
Gritty black and white dream imagery shot on film back in 2006. These images were featured in my gallery show that same year titled "Afraid to See".
Looking back now, these images represented a transitional/transformative period in my life that occurred around the time I got married, and not long after an accident that could have claimed my life. Shot on a variety of films and old cameras, I think they ultimately represented the graduate school project I wanted to do, but didn't know how to approach while I was finishing my master's degree.
Today they aren't really anything special, particular now that "abandonment porn" is a genre. But when I was making them, they were the most exciting personal images I'd created up to that point.
