I’m very late to the world of drone photography. I’ve been resisting it for as long as possible because I didn’t want yet another expensive hobby. But now I have access to one and I’m learning how to use it. A recent rare snow here at home seemed to be a good subject for my first drone video.
I gave my students an assignment to respond to the current covid-19 situation with a series of images, and I realized I hadn’t actually done the assignment myself, so I gave it a shot. Nothing too deep here, but these are scenes from my usual evening walk, with an eye towards details I hadn’t noticed before. My students’ work was much better, if I’m being honest!
An assignment from late last year, photographing the folks in Fort Mill who invented the hottest pepper in the world, The Carolina Reaper. I also wrote the article for this, which has not been published at the time of this posting.
