Went here to photograph the graffiti; found remains of an animal in the process. Bonus!
This will be my last posting from the batch of images I shot over several days at Hilton Head Island. This is a scene from the Pinkney Island wildlife refuge, just after leaving Hilton Head.
Continuing my exploration of Hilton Head Island strictly as a tourist, I did what I once said I’d never do, and that’s photograph a graveyard. This place has so much character though. I felt like I was in an H.P. Lovecraft story.
I was looking for Masonic lodges on the island, when I learned that the first lodge was actually here on this property. Of course, it’s not there now, but that’s how I ended up here taking photos. The mausoleum is reportedly the oldest building on HHI.
A dramatic cloudy sky (and a half moon rising in the early afternoon) made me choose Acros B&W with a red filter.
A very quiet beach on the sound with some nice marshland.
